Mr and Mrs Scheybal´s House
The former rectory in Kostelní Street and the church of St. Anne are the oldest and most significant historical monuments and dominant features in the town’s original centre. (Photograph, R. Kursa. The former Jablonec rectory when it was home to Mr and Mrs Scheybal.)
After Mr. and Mrs. Scheybal passed away, the building came into the town’s possession and it has since been transformed into a cultural centre known as "Jana and Josef V. Scheybal House".
Mr. and Mrs. Scheybal bought the former rectory building in the mid 1960s and they gradually transformed the house into remarkable place, where a scientist's archive and library combined with an artist's atelier.
